It's now Winter, and so we need to plan for Spring!

While Sturt's lawn courts are closed until October, many members are taking advantage of affiliate membership arrangements with Unley Park Tennis Club to play on their synthetic courts under lights throughout winter. Main times are Saturdays from 1pm, and Tuesday & Thursday evenings.

Our AGM will be held in the next month or so. Watch your e-mail inbox for the date, and think about nominating to join the committee for the new season - or nominate another member.

Will you be playing competition? Team nominations will be due soon and so you could be talking to other potential team members and our club captains (men's or women's).

CONGRATULATIONS to our Sat. Morning Men: Div-3b Premiers!

Sturt Glenlea triumphed on 24th April, to end our Club's season on a high.

All 3 of our Division 3 teams had something to celebrate from the year. Our Dark Blue team were Minor Round Premiers, unfortunately losing close matches in the semi and preliminary finals. Our Light Blue team finished 6th on the Ladder of 11 teams, but their Number-1 player Corey Donellan was awarded "Player of the Year" for Division 3 by the Saturday Morning Mens Lawn Tennis Association because he won all 11 of his singles matches throughout the season - losing only 3 sets.

One Sturt Team in a Saturday Morning Grand Final - 24th April.

Sturt Glenlea will play Adelaide University White at Unley Oval in Div-3b.

Two other Sturt teams reached the finals stage of the competition, but were knocked out is very close matches.
Our Doubles-only Div-D3 team lost their Semi Final by just 3 games to Xavier White:
2 rubbers all, 4 sets all, 32-35 games.
In Div-3a, Sturt Dark Blue went down by 2 sets to Woodville Orion in their Preliminary Final:
      3 rubbers all, 6-8 sets, 63-67 games.

All our players enjoyed lots of great tennis during the season.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Ladies - Metro Division 1 Premiers (again)!

In a very even match against Drive Blue on 27th March, Sturt triumphed 4 sets to 2, including 3 tie-breakers.
Each of our Finals players contributed by winning at least one set: Jenny Brinkworth, Paula Brinkworth, Kristin Jeffery, Sophie McDonald and Lindy McNamara.
Click here for full match details.
The team also won two years ago in 2019, but last year were beaten by Covid!

Our Men's Div-1 lost their Grand Final to a very strong Reade Park Blue team.
We congratulate them on reaching the final.

Autumn means FINALS are coming!

Thursday 25th March: GRAND FINALS for Women's Mid-Week competition.
Congratulations to Reade Park, Tranmere and Memorial Drive. Next season for Sturt?

Saturday 27th March: GRAND FINALS for both Men's & Ladies Metro Afternoon competitions.
Sturt's Div-1 teams are playing, both Men and Ladies! Best Wishes.
Our Div-3 men (Minor Premiers) lost their semi final on 20th March by just one set!

Saturday 10th April: Semi Finals for Saturday Morning Men's comp, then Prelim's on 17th and Grand on 24th.
      Both Sturt's Div-3 Dark Blue teams should be involved (Singles+Doubles & Doubles-Only).
