STURT LAWN TENNIS CLUB - SOCIAL TENNIS
Social Tennis on Saturdays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays - from early October 2020
Members can play tennis with other members at almost any times that the courts
aren't scheduled for competition or being maintained by our curator, but there are
four regular times at which many social players enjoy tennis.
Visitors are always welcome.
$10 per day. Simply come along and introduce yourself!
Limit of 3 visits and then you are expected to apply for membership (with visitor's fees deducted
from subscription fee).
Saturdays from 1:30pm
At least two courts will always be available for social players, and often four. Men's morning competition
is supposed to finish by 1pm, and usually only one afternoon team will be playing at home.
Tuesdays from 1:00pm Men's Doubles
About 8 members play regularly at a fairly high standard. Visitors welcome.
Wednesdays from 6pm Fast4 Doubles
About 10 members welcome visitors (men & women) for an hour and a half of fast format tennis.
Also regular visits to other nearby clubs.
Thursdays from 5:00pm
About 12 regular players are joined by a variety of other competition and social members, both men and women.
These twilight sessions avoid the heat of the afternoon and play continues until well after 7pm.
Then pleasant conversation with a few drinks from the bar completes a delightful evening.
(Bring a jumper or jacket, because it can be chilly by 9pm when the
last members usually go home.)
Family Tennis on Sundays
Sundays are now the ideal day for young players to enjoy tennis with each other and their parents.
Bill Purling is again coaching young children on Sunday mornings in Term 1 2021.
